Why Age-Friendly Care?


The engage curriculum is built on the Age-Friendly Care framework and integrates the 4Ms (What Matters, Medication, Mind, and Mobility) into each patient encounter. The curriculum optimizes training for healthcare students and providers by:

·      Creating modules that support screening, assessment, referral, and treatment of common geriatric syndromes

·      Building on value-based care to improve health outcomes for every older adult

·      Supporting interprofessional practice to enhance collaboration in the care of older adults.

How To Take The Course


The engage curriculum consists of 14 interdisciplinary learning modules; 2 focused on overarching topics and 12 focused on geriatric syndromes. 

We recommend that learners start with the two overarching topic modules: Introduction to Age-Friendly Care and Ageism.

The 12 Geriatric Syndrome modules provide foundational knowledge for all members of the older adults' healthcare team. Learning modules are not intended to replace discipline-specific knowledge for the evaluation and management of the syndromes presented. Learners may complete the modules in any order that meets their individual needs.
